SALVAGE FURNITURE & ART

the little online upcycling shop

About

about

Welcome to the website for my little upcycling business, Salvage. I find old pieces of furniture - on the pavement, in skips, in charity shops, junk yards, or they are donated - and I repair and restore them. This allows me to sell them at reasonable prices as, often, the only cost involved is my time and some paint. I LOVE the idea of bringing an item back to life so it can be reused rather than discarded.

And I HATE the  way we have become a throwaway society, hellbent on landfill.

I also create wall hangings from waste materials such as old glass bottles, plastic, wood cut-offs as well as shells and 'finds' from the beach and I make cork boards out of ... well, old corks!

So join me in my upcycling endeavors. Take a look at FOR SALE to see if there's anything you like and get in touch below. Or, if you have a well-loved piece that needs some serious TLC, go to SERVICES.

I also work on customers' furniture and will repair, prepare and repaint any tired pieces that need mending or updating. I can also customise items, using different painting methods, patterns or decoupage, as with this floral design. And I will look out for particular pieces for people.

I can also take on commissions for any craft art - see the menu for ideas.

This little folding side table was suffering from fatigue and a bad paint job when the customer brought it to me. She wanted a vintage look in dove grey. I had to remove all the paint to get it folding again and prepped the table before adding tissue decoupage, stripes and varnish.

deliveries & donations

I can deliver larger items locally, although there will be a charge of £10. I am conscious of my carbon footprint though, so will only travel a few miles from Blackheath.

I will also collect donated items but please contact me first with a photo of your furniture, at the email address below.

The shop at 133 Lee Road, London, SE3 9DS will close end of February 2024 but Salvage will continue online.
